ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Schedule

ICC Champions Trophy:

The ICC Champions Trophy will feature matches in three major cities including Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi.

In the proposed plan,

Group A conclude Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and New Zealand. 

Group B conclude England, South Africa, Australia, and Afghanistan.

7 countries have confirmed their support for the Champions Trophy to the ICC. While BCCI will make a decision on the Champions Trophy after consulting with their government.

Keeping in mind, the proposed dates for the Champions Trophy are from 19th February to 9th March. 10th March has been declared as a reserve day for the Champions Trophy Final.

Back Ground:

In 2016, the ICC dropped future releases of the Champions trophy after the 2017 tournament, aiming to have just a single significant tournamnet in each format of international cricket. In November 2021, they reported that the competition would return in 2025.

In December 2022, Pakistan Cricket Board, was given approval by the government for the construction of a new "high-tech" cricket stadium in Islamabad as one of the venues for the champions Trophy.

During the 2023 Cricket World Cup, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) top officials met the ICC Chief Board looking for pay assuming the Indian cricket team will not visit Pakistan for the tournament refering to political and security concerns and the tournament is facilitated in the "hybrid model", only 4 matches were played in Pkaistan and rest of the all matches were be played on Srilanka.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has shared the Champions Trophy timetable with the International Cricket Council, while the BCCI's approval is forthcoming.

"The Pakistan Cricket board has presented the draft/schedule of the 15-match ICC Champions Trophy, according to PCB 7 matches will be played in Lahore,Gaddafi Stadium, 3 matches will be played in Karachi, National Stadium & 5 matches will be played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium ".

21 February 2025: Afghanistan vs South Africa at National Stadium Karachi

22 February 2025: Australia vs England at Gaddafi Stadium

23 February 2025: New Zealand vs India at Gaddafi Stadium

24 February 2025: Pakistan vs Bangladesh at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium

25 February 2025: Afghanistan vs England at Gaddafi Stadium

26 February 2025: Australia vs South Africa at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium

27 February 2025: Bangladesh vs New Zealand at Gaddafi Stadium

28 February 2025: Afghanistan vs Australia at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium 

1st March 2025: Pakistan vs India at Gaddafi Stadium

2nd March 2025: South Africa vs England at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium

5 March 2025: Semi-final: TBC vs TBC at National Stadium Karachi

6 March 2025: Semi-final: TBC vs TBC at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium

9 March 2025: Final: TBC vs TBC at Gaddafi Stadium.
