The second semi-final match was played between India and England at Providence Stadium. England won the toss and decided to Bowl first. In the First innings India didn't have an extra ordinary beginning as Virat kohli after hitting a six to Reece Topley in another bowl Virat Kohli was bowled by Reece Topley after scoring only nine runs. After virat kohli wicket Rishabh Pant come to crease unfortunately he only makes 4 runs and walked back to the Pavillion.

After losing two wickets Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma built a 73-run partnership. Rohit Sharma finished his 50 runs however tumbled to Adil Rashid's googly subsequent to contributing 57 runs.

India lost wickets one after another with Hardik Pandya made (23 runs off 13 balls) and Shivam Dube (0 run off 1 ball), yet Ravindra Jadeja  score (17 runs off 9 balls) and Axar Patel  made (10 runs off 6 balls) impelled India to 171 in the allotted overs.

England bowlers, Chris Jordan picked three wickets, while Adil Rashid get 1 wicket, Sam Curran gets 1 wicket, Jofra Archer get 1 wicket and Reece Topley also get one wicket.

England had a decent beginning as in the initial three overs, they had scored 26 runs without losing a solitary wicket. Jos Buttler was in great touch however he was dismissed by Axar Patel on the first ball of the 4th over.

England has never recovered after losing their captain Jos Buttler as Jasprit Bumrah increased their troubles by removing Phil Salt’s stumps.

India's spin bowling line up  kept on ruling the reigning champs as Jonny Bairstow (0 off 3), Moeen Ali score (8 runs off 10 balls), Sam Curran (score 2runs off 4balls) and Liam Livingstone (score 11 runs of 16 balls), all neglected to score huge for the team.

Harry Brook gave some obstruction by contributing 25 runs spikes in  19 balls however he was eliminated by Kuldeep Yadav. Jofra Archer was the third top-scorer for the England team with 21 runs in 14 balls.

For India,  Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav  stowed three wickets each while Bumrah got two wickets as the whole England team was out for 103 runs in 16.4 overs.

India Batting:

Rohit Sharma made 57 runs on 37 balls. Surya Kumar Yadav made 47 runs on 36 balls and Hardik Pandya made 23 runs on 13 balls. Ravindra Jadeja score 17 runs in 9 balls. Axar Patel score 10 runs in 6 balls.

England Bowling:

Chris Jordan took 3 wickets while conceding 37 runs on 3 overs. Adil Rashid took 1 wicket while conceding 25 runs in 4 overs. Reece Topley took 1 wicket while conceding 25 runs in 3 overs. Jofra Archer took 1 wicket while conceding 33 runs in 4 overs. Sam Curran took 1 wicket while conceding 25 runs in 2 overs.

England Batting:

Harry Brook made 25 runs in 19 balls. Jos Buttler made 23 runs in 15 balls. Jofra Archer made 21 runs in 15 balls. Liam Living Stone made 11 runs in 16 balls. Moeen Ali made 8 runs in 10 balls.


Player Of The Match:

Player of the match was awarded to Axar Patel who performed an excellent inning in both bowling and batting respectively.

India defeated England by 68 runs in the 2nd semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2024 which was played at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Thursday.

India qualified for the final of the T20 World Cup 2024 where they will play South Africa on Saturday, June 29 in Barbados.
